No. 3 Fennel

みなさんフェンネル食べたことあります？というかこの野菜ご存知ですか？日本語ではウイキョウっていうらしいです。

名前は聞いたことあったんですが実際に見たことがなくて。週末旅行でこの前アンドラ公国というスペインとフランスの間にある小さな国に行ったとき、スーパーマーケットに山積みになっているかわった野菜を発見。

これがフェンネルか〜

上のふさふさしてる部分が可愛くて、色もきれいで好きです。今まで食べたことないので（多分）、完全に見た目で判断してますが。まあそれはいいとして、ポイントは、どんなに些細なことでも、新しいもの、アイデアに出会うということの有り難さを身に染みて感じるということです。特にこのパンデミックの状況下、行動が制限されていて日々同じことの繰り返しになりがちですからね。

Have you ever eaten fennel? Or do you know what it is? I had heard about it but never really seen it - the other day when I visited Andorra for a weekend, I found a lot of fennels piled up in a supermarket. I was like oh ok this is fennel. I like the fluffy part at the top. The colour is pretty - the gradation from white to slightly pale green. I had never had it before (maybe), and I didn't have a chance to try it either, so I can only talk about its appearance, but anyway, my point is that I appreciate every encounter with new things, ideas etc, even trivial ones, especially now that what we can do in everyday life is so limited due to the pandemic.
